We all want our children to enjoy hobbies of their own, to find their passions. Some of us have children who are reluctant to try new things and then some of us have children who want to do everything and there simply are not enough hours in the day to do so! Sometimes our children need our support and encouragement in finding and discovering their hobbies, which is why today we have come up with 3 brilliant hobbies for children.

Reading
If reading becomes your children’s favorite hobby and pastime, then they will never be lonely, bored or without entertainment. They will also be making a real difference to their education as readers tend to have strong writing skills, good memories and improved concentrations spans.
With millions of books in the world, there is bound to be a subject matter that will grab your child and hook him or her. He or she may love to read fantasy fiction or perhaps humor will be entertaining. Non-fiction may be favored and books about astronomy or nature may be devoured. It might not even be books themselves that are interesting, graphic novels, comics or magazines could be what suits your child. The type does not matter, as long as your child is enjoying reading as they will always be learning something.
If your child is a reluctant reader or perhaps struggles, you could look into audio books for kids or reading programs to both support and capture interest.
Sports
We all know the importance of physical exercise for your body, so sports are a great way for children to keep fit, burn off some of that energy and love what they are doing.
Try to give your child as many opportunities as possible to sample a good selection of sports. They might take to team games, it might be ball games, they could love martial arts or perhaps athletics holds an appeal. There are hundreds of sports for them to try so the chances are that they will find one that suits them.
Sports not only keep children fit, they can also encourage team play, they reinforce the importance of understanding and following rules and they encourage a level of commitment and discipline.
The arts
Creativity is good for our children as it helps them to express themselves and can help to develop logical and problem-solving thinking. The arts encompasses something for everyone, so there will be a field that your child takes to and finds fulfilling.
Your children may be drawn to art itself, or perhaps they love spending time getting crafty. The kids might love to write poems, scripts and stories, love to sing or act, or may ask for a camera to work on their photography skills.
Some are more practical and yearn to sew or knit clothes and bedding, or perhaps baking as an art form will tempt them.
In all cases, your child is offered the opportunity to learn and develop skills whilst being able to express themselves.

Thanks for sharing this hobbies.
Really enjoy practising outdoor & water sports with the family.
I like to teach you to understand the natural environment.
Another great hobby that children can engage in is learning survival skills. It may be a very practical aspect of their life and it also gets the parents involved too. You can teach them skills like an outdoor camping building fire, purifying water. They’re not just educational. They can be made interesting and educational with the help of fun games.
Hi Amy
This is a great post which I can relate to so much.
I’ve been reading to my little one at bedtime and she loves to choose the book every night. It really settles her before sleep time! What are your thoughts on that?

Yes, we read to our children every night as well. I think it does help, but on the days they don’t get as much exercise they have a harder time winding down.
