Your home is your castle, and every castle needs fluffy beds, thick carpets and beautiful artwork on the walls. When you look around your home, do you feel like it’s a place that you can be totally proud of, or is there room for change? When we take ourselves on vacation, we expect to be sleeping in an accommodation dripping in luxury. We look for those Egyptian cotton sheets, the decadent shower with the full body jets and the ability to steam dry afterward. We look for the spa bathroom and the luxury toiletries. So, when you look for that type of indulgence away from home, why wouldn’t you want that inside your home? There’s nothing much worse than coming home to clutter and a messy bed with budget sheets from the discount store when you’ve just spent some time in total luxury.

When you spend cash on your home, you have to look at the places you need to upgrade first, then the places you WANT to upgrade. Don’t forget that there’s a huge difference between your wants and your needs. You may need to rip out the bathroom suite and replace it with a brand-new shower, but you want the shower with the ten jets and the steam setting. See; need a shower, want a steam room! It’s important to remember that the hotel room you’ve just stayed in was put together by high-class designers and a lot of cash, which you may not be privy to. You could start by contacting The Solar Bros and get your house as eco-friendly as possible. This could be a great way to save money for those luxury upgrades that you want to implement into the home. Whichever way you choose to get in some cash, you absolutely deserve to make changes if they’re going to make you happy. We’ve got five fantastic upgrade ideas that you could start adding to your home, giving you the luxury that you want:
Bedroom. Whenever you go to an extravagant hotel, the bed is always center stage – sometimes literally. A hotel that has a bed in the center of the room is often one that costs an awful lot of money. You could replicate this with your bed, moving it to the center of the room and adding beautiful throw pillows, luxury sheets and comforters of silk. Add in some quaint little side tables and vases of fresh flowers, and you can get that new bedroom feeling without much effort.
Bathroom. If you are lucky enough to have an ensuite attached to your bedroom, you need to think about that spa feel that you love from the hotels of your travels. You may have enjoyed a jacuzzi tub abroad, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have one in your own bathroom. If you have the funds to replace your shower enclosure with one shown here, go ahead and do it. In the meantime, invest in some scented candles and upgrade your towels. Give the bathroom you have a lick of pure white paint and make it look beautiful.
Entrance. Your house has to make a statement with your entryway, and it’s the perfect place for beautiful artworks and unique lighting. You want people to walk into your home and give them that wow factor that you feel when you vacation abroad. Guiding the eyes of your visitors is important and creating a talking piece with your entrance is a good way to gain their attention. It’s the first and last place that your guests will see, so you want it to look great!
Windows. Window treatments may never have crossed your mind beyond a set of winter curtains and summer shades. Consider adding shutters (hand-painted, of course) or other window treatments to your windows. Custom draperies are not a cheap option, but they are one that look elegant and beautiful while adding layers to the room. Always pick decadent fabrics that suit both your tastes and your budget, and make the room inspire you.
Luxury Property. If you are serious about having a luxury looking home you could choose to move to a luxury home in Northwest Portland. Often, investing more in your home rather than your furniture can give you more space, great views and added features. Adding minimal furniture in a luxury home can make it look classy and the items you have in your home look more expensive as often less is more. Feeling luxurious comes hand in hand with a big, tidy garden that you can share with friends and family. Most of the time a luxury property will come with a better garden in front and surrounding the back of your home allowing you to rave about your space when people visit whilst giving you the space for activities and summer houses.
Making your home as beautiful as the grand hotel rooms that you’ve stayed in before isn’t just an expensive quest, it’s a necessity for the palace of your dreams. The luxury that you want to put into your home will take some time and some budgeting, but if you give yourself a gift of patience, there’s nothing you’ll love more than a home that’s not just eco-friendly, but luxurious, too.
