You might have put off a bathroom renovation for months, maybe even years. Why is this? Because we all know just how expensive a bathroom renovation actually is. To strip out the whole bathroom, and have everything brand new put in, you should be looking to spend thousands. But when money is tight, this just isn’t an option. So, we’ve got a few ways that you should be able to cut some of the costs off the whole ordeal, but still be left with that professional and lovely finish that you’re going to want when it comes to your bathroom. Have a read on to find out more.

What Can You Salvage

Thinking about what you can salvage rather than throw away is the first place that so many people go wrong. Just because you’re renovating, doesn’t mean everything has to be brand new. A lot of the items you have in your bathroom could easily be salvaged with some restoration work. For example, tub reglazing will help to give your bathtub that new finish that it has always needed, and can help turn it from an item that was ready for the bin, to one that is able to shine bright like it was intended to do. So many people would be against this, thinking that getting everything new is the only way to complete a good renovation. But, if you’re looking to cut costs, then thinking about what you can salvage is probably the best way of doing so. However, at the same time, you don’t want to be refurbishing everything. You do need to bring a new element to the bathroom that it didn’t have before, or else there really would be no reason to renovate!

What Can You Do Yourself?

If you want to save some money, then doing some of the hard work yourself is the best way to do that. But be warned, you are going to be messing with delicate things here, and the last thing you want to do is damage a pipe below the surface. If you’re going to be careful, ripping out the old bathroom is going to save you a day's work, which is a day less you’re going to have to pay the fitter. Always make sure you’re turning the water off, just in case, and always make sure you’re staying away from any of the main building structures or support beams within the bathroom. Trying to actually fit the new parts of the bathroom is something that you should definitely leave to the experts.

Are There Alternatives?

Yes, there are always alternatives that would be able to save you a bit of money. The first is thinking about the tiles you’re using, and whether you’re going for a design that is a little more expensive. If you visit your local bathroom store, you’ll be able to see the different price ranges for the different types of material. Don’t go for the most expensive one because you think it will look the best. Go for the one that you think looks the same, but is possibly going to be hundreds less expensive.

Your bathroom looks nice with a white background, one mirror, and some small plants. It’s looking fresh and clean. Thanks for the tips.

More often than not, canvassing is the key! Sometimes we do not know that there are hidden gems in the store that cost not so much! Anyways, thanks for the tips 🙂
