Cleaning your home is never enjoyable, but you do need to make sure that it gets done because if it doesn’t, then you run the risk of experiencing a huge range of problems. You may find that mould starts to grow, and you may even find that your paint and carpet gets stained over time as well. If you want to avoid all of that, then you can find the top areas you’re probably forgetting to clean below.

Skirting Boards

Dirt often accumulates on the skirting boards but because they are so low, they often go unnoticed. The next time you are doing your dusting, make sure that you get down low. It also helps to keep on top of them by running over them with a feather duster from time to time. This will make it much easier for you to keep them clean and you don’t have to worry about getting on all fours either. If you are cleaning them for the first time in a while, then consider getting a sponge and some hot soapy water. Don’t be too aggressive in your cleaning though, as this can pull off some of the paint.

Under the Bed

The space under the bed is usually the place where things get dumped. The problem is that it is also the place where dust and even grime build up occurs as well. You may even find that dust mites make your bed their home over time as well, so it is worth putting the extra effort in now and again to make sure that this doesn’t happen. Dust under the bed can even cause breathing issues for you at night as well, so make sure that you run your vacuum cleaner under the bed from time to time to stop this from becoming a problem.

Bins

Even though you may have a bin bag, you’ll probably still find that your bin leaks over from time to time. Your garbage bin is home to millions of germs, and when you empty your trash bin every single week, you can still produce over 4 million germs. For this reason, you have to clean your kitchen bin every month or so. Make sure that you go over it with some disinfectant or get rid of those sticky splodges. This will also help to discourage flies as well.

Behind the Toilet

If you look behind your toilet, you’ll probably see that it is covered in black mould. This could be water collecting from a dripping toilet or it could even be the result of your shower curtain dripping as well. If you know that you have mold as the result of a flood or any other type of water damage then it may be worth you investing in an air drying service. This is one of the best ways for you to get rid of any mould that you might see and it is also a great way for you to make sure that the problem does not come back anytime soon either.
