Bathrooms are so often overlooked and yet, a candle lit bath with a good book and some soft music playing is one of the most wonderful ways to spend an evening. So sure, you could leave the bathroom as it is, or you could add in a few simple luxuries and really make the most of it.

Bathroom design can quickly rack up in costs, including labour and materials, but with a bit of imagination you can get a bathroom you love. The best thing to do is find a plumber near me in order to get a good deal from a local tradesperson.

The Best Water Filtration and Pressure

A hot shower in the morning is the best thing to help you wake up and get ready for the day, but low pressure will never give you the massage you want. A low flow shower head uses smaller holes to force the water through faster to give you the best massage ever. Rather than use more water, as you would think, this type of shower head actually saves water so it is green and cheap as well as luxurious.

You might also consider your water filtration system. Most tap water is treated and depending on your area and where your water comes from, it may contain a different balance of minerals and added chemicals. Though these chemicals aren’t usually harmful, they may not get on so well with your hair or skin if you are particularly sensitive. Adding a water filtration system will purify your water before it reaches you so that whenever you turn on the tap, it runs perfectly clear.

A Walk-in and A Tub

If you have the space, then having a walk-in shower as well as a tub is a good idea. Walk-ins are a good investment as you get older and less inclined to clamber into a tub. Having a heated floor will also bring luxury to your ablutions, making sure that your feet don’t freeze over as you wait for the water to run warm.

Make your bath the best bath with water jets to create a jacuzzi effect. Sitting in a jacuzzi isn’t just relaxing, it is also good for your circulation, beneficial for relaxing sore muscles and reduces your stress.

Windows and Lighting

How you use light is always important but it is even more so in the bathroom as you need to find a way to have lovely big windows without accidentally letting your neighbors see too much! Stained or frosted glass is a good option for allowing light in without becoming a stage show, but you could also consider skylights if you like to lie back and look at the stars.

Having a range of bright lights around the bathroom mirror and dimmable lights too will give you the opportunity to make your bathroom lighting work, whatever your needs happen to be at that moment.

Luxury is in the details and you don’t necessarily need to change everything to achieve calm in your bathroom.
