Your Well-being is Suffering
Managers in particular are prone to suffering from burnout. This is concerning, to say the least, considering that managers do have the most impact when it comes to employee engagement. If you find that your role is impacting your mental or physical health, then now could be the best time for you to be seeking a new job.
You Can’t Advance
Do you wonder if you have stayed at your current job for too long? One reason for this may be because you are not advancing on a professional level. Do not spend a lot of time in a position if it is not offering you the opportunity to grow. If you are being passed over for a promotion time and time again, even though you are a top performer then this indicates that it is time for you to look elsewhere. If you want a new driving job, then why not look into working with team truck drivers?
You have a Toxic Work Environment
If you feel as though your work environment or the employees who you work alongside are toxic, then this is not good for your mental health. It will interfere with your career growth, and you may even find that it damages your career. If you find yourself working for an organisation where bullying is tolerated or if morale is low and your input is not being valued, then now may be the time for you to begin exploring other options for yourself.
You Do Not Feel Challenged
Are you in the same position that you were a few years ago? Can you complete any work you do, in your sleep? If you feel somewhat overqualified for your job, then your career may have stalled. Now would be a good time for you to ask your manager to see if you can take on a bigger assignment or more responsibilities. If they cannot offer you this, then it may be that you have to consider other opportunities.
You Aren’t Paid What You’re Worth
If you are being underpaid or if you are overqualified then this is a major red flag that something has to change. Before you even think about looking for a new job, you need to look into different forms of compensation, and you need to make a case based on your current contributions. If you struggle with your current salary and you strongly suspect that you are going to make more working another job, then this can indicate that it is time for you to move on.
