If you have a small kitchen, you may feel frustrated every time you go to cook dinner in the evening. You probably feel like you don’t have enough space to prepare food, let alone store all of your glassware, cooking utensils, cookware, cutlery, and dinnerware. If this sounds familiar, read on to discover how to make the most of your small kitchen.

Create kitchen storage – The first thing you need to do is look for opportunities to create some more storage space. Are you making the most of all options that are available to you? Do your cupboards go all of the way up to the ceiling? Do you have some space in another room that could be transformed into a storage space for some of your kitchen items?

Choose appliances with care – There is no denying that appliances take up most of the room that is available in any kitchen. With this in mind, it is a good idea to look for smaller appliances, or even better, choose a dual-purpose appliance. This microwave toaster oven recommended by ToastHQ is an excellent example. You will be able to achieve much more while taking up less floor space.

Invest in some handy gadgets – You may feel like you have the smallest kitchen in the world, but this is an issue a lot of people have to deal with. Because of this, there have been lots of handy gadgets that have been created with small kitchens in mind. This includes an over the sink cutting board.

Buy a folding kitchen table – A folding kitchen table is a must-have for anyone that does not have a dining room. A kitchen table like this will double up as counter space, meaning you have somewhere to prepare food, and then you can turn it into a place for you to eat once dinner is ready.

Re-think your kitchen layout – Re-thinking your kitchen layout can make it feel like you have a new kitchen altogether. Do you really have everything placed in the most efficient and convenient spot? Is navigation easy and seamless? If not, it is time to make some changes.

Make the most of your kitchen walls – If you are not using your walls, you are missing out on plenty of valuable storage space. You can easily hang up your pots and pans on the wall, and you can do this in a stylish manner. There are plenty of images online that should be able to give you some inspiration.

If you follow the tips that have been provided above, you can improve the functionality of your small kitchen and make it feel bigger than it is. You are bound to enjoy spending your time in your kitchen more, which will make dinnertime a lot more fun.

I have limited space on my kitchen counter too, that’s why I bought an under-cabinet toaster oven instead. It’s attached directly to the bottom of my cabinet and frankly it’s saving quite a bit of space.
