One of the main reasons I homeschool my children is because I want them to learn from a creationist point of view. Which is why I am so happy to receive these creationist curriculum coloring books from Master Books.

My Kids Color While I Read Homeschool Books To Them
Bible Homeschool
Every morning, we start our homeschool day with me reading from the Bible. I might explain a little about the verses or say a prayer afterwards.
Kids Color or Play While Listening
Then I start reading from a few school books and end with reading a chapter from a chapter book I am reading to the children. While I am reading, my kids can eat breakfast, color, put together puzzles or play quietly.
This Method Works
You might be shocked or think this is a terrible way to teach, but it works for our family. The kids may not look like it, but they are actually listening and I do test this once in a while by asking, “Mason, what did I just read about how alcohol affects the brain?”
Two of my children decided to enter public high school the last few years of education to graduate there. They each graduated on the honor roll and got a gold cord to wear.
It is not super important to me if my kids are smart or go to college. I want them to seek God first and all else will be added, including wisdom. I feel I must mention what my other two adult children that graduated from homeschool are doing. One is entering her fourth year of college with a major in biology. The other did score high enough for college on an ACT, but felt he didn't want to go into debt. He went directly into the workforce and paid cash for his first and second vehicles. He currently works as a night auditor at a hotel.
I don't have my kids sit and do nothing while I read. I was a “risk taker” in that way, but all worked out fine for my oldest four.
Christian Based Homeschooling Curriculum
Currently, I am homeschooling four of my children. (Megan, my youngest, who is preschool age is not part of this review.) I prefer to use Christian based homeschool curriculum with a creationist point of view. We believe God created the heavens and the earth and do not believe in the “big bang theory” or other theories out there. We also believe that God created the dinosaurs, humans, and the rest of the animals on Day 6 of Creation.
I noticed the Master Books approach or educational style is eclectic, which basically means that it is from a variety of sources. This is exactly how I love to homeschool and I love that these “variety of sources” that I have tried from Master Books are from a Christian and Creationist view. It's hard to know who to trust with curriculum nowadays and I like that I can trust Master Books. For me, this is especially important when I am teaching apologetics.
For this review, we will be discussing three of the coloring books that are sold at Master Books in their online shop: A is for Adam, D is for Dinosaur and N is for Noah.
In all three of these coloring books, I am happy to report after previewing through these myself – they support our creationist beliefs.
The pages go in alphabetical order with a fun little poem/rhyme on each page. I think that makes it fun for the kids to read as they are coloring.
In the back of each book there is a summary of each letter and what it said on the coloring page. I love that they do this! Sometimes, after coloring a page we rip it out of the coloring book and hang it on the fridge. From there it goes into a box of art I keep for each child. So, it's nice to remember what it said at the back of the book in case a child is looking through it and wonders what the letters E and F said that are missing because that page was ripped out.
Another thing I like is that they are not too complicated, like an adult coloring book is. And yet, they are not too simplistic and boring to color, like a preschool color book. They can easily be colored with colored pencils or crayons.
A is for Adam
I would like to highlight the C is for Creation page that Mitchell colored. It shows a human with a hand reaching out to touch a dinosaur, which was okay back then – they were plant eaters before the fall.
The page says, “C is for Creatures; God made them all, some rather little, but others quite tall. He said unto Adam, ‘What names do you think?' Adam then named them, quick as a wink!”
Mitchell's opinion, “I like how they show animals I don't get to color in other coloring books, like the dodo bird and rhino.”
D is for Dinosaur
I just want to highlight the F is for Fantastic page says, “F is for Fantastic – that's all we can say, As we see what God has made on this, the sixth day! Adam and Eve and the pouched kangaroo; The rest of the animals and dinosaurs, too.” I love the creation based teaching in it!
The page Mason colored in the photo shown says, “J means Just awful – I'm sure we could say The effects of sin grew worse every day. Flesh became violent, the Bible reveals. Were people and creatures now dinosaur meals?”
Mason's opinion, “It makes me laugh to see the dinosaur cooking chicken on the fire, even though I know he probably ate the chicken without cooking it first.”
N is for Noah
I would like to highlight the Y is for Years page. I love that it points to the coming judgement. I hate it when a child's book never talks about the future or what's coming. This one does. It says, “Years, about four thousand three hundred are there, Since the worldwide Flood made the earth so bare. And another judgement's coming, from God's Word we learn, When the whole of the universe from fire will burn.”
And yet, the very next page gives hope by mentioning Jesus in comparing Him to the ark door we can go in to be saved from the coming judgement.
In the photo, Miranda is coloring the T is for Twice page, which says, “Twice, Noah chose the dove to fly about To see if from the ark they could finally go out. When the dove came back with a leaf from a tree Noah knew now soon the earth he would see.”
Miranda's opinion: “It's a nice coloring book for kids. There are pages that can be colored quickly and some that take more time.”
I really enjoyed having my kids color in these beautiful coloring books while reading to them and I think your family would enjoy them too. Check it out at Master Books Website.
How To Find These Creationist Coloring Books
On the Master Books website, these are sold in a few different ways.
Stand Alone
You can get them each alone as you add them to your cart. These links will help you find them.
In a Package
A better deal is to get them with in a package deal of books. I received these with the Faith Grower Morning Basket. You can read my review on the faith basket to learn more.
Since I really like the author Ken Ham, I am considering getting the Ken Ham Package – which includes all three of these coloring books. Although, I do already have several of these books. I like to put Christian content, Bibles and New Testaments in Little Free Library boxes. While I am there, I remove the poor content books I see. You could be a missionary in your own neighborhood like this with many of the great options from Master Books.
Master Books Offers Online Curriculum Too
Master Books also offers online homeschool curriculum if you prefer to use that. You could win some in the giveaway below, so be sure to check that out.
