So, are you curious to hear about my weight loss journey at week 12? There are times when it was very difficult and times that it seemed easy. Read on for the details.

How Is It Going For Me?

For details on the beginnings of this diet, please read “Starting a Weight Loss Program“.

My total weight loss is now 14 pounds since I started this whole macro journey. I was 240 lbs before I contacted Audra to ask for help. Amy and Audra say I have lost a total of 16.5 inches. I don't get how they do that kind of math. I have lost 7 inches around my waistline and some elsewhere. This macro, calorie cycling, type of diet is actually working!

What I Love About It

I was able to go down a pants size from 20W to 18 avg, so that's pretty nice. I decided to buy skirts that could be worn in the winter or summer with stretchy waistbands to conserve money during this transition, in case you are curious. I don't mind if my shirts are baggy.

I can eat what I want. If my kids are making a chocolate cake and I want a piece, I can have one, I just have to put it in the app and I may not be able to eat much food that day because that would take up a lot of my macros.

After you are in it for a while, you get a “high carb day” per week that you get to choose. If I know we will order in pizza one night, that is the day I choose to do it!

Exercise is highly encouraged, but not required. You don't get kicked out of the group if you don't do it.

They have a lot of recipes for me to try. I do like the ones I have tried so far. I went on the Facebook group site and printed 20 pages of valuable recipes and info. I will have to go to Gundry MD coupons to save money on the new food items I want to keep using. The oatmeal recipe is loved by some of my kids as well so I know I will keep using that one for sure.

I was not “perfect” at it and still lost weight. It's true, there were days that I did not get enough protein, I had too many carbs, too much fat and too many calories and not enough exercise. Or I didn't drink enough water. I don't even think I have had a totally perfect day. But it's baby steps and it's cool that I am still losing pounds and inches.

What I Hate About It

It doesn't make any sense to me, it's somewhat mathematical. But that's okay because there is an app to help me with the tracking and a lot of the math. Amy and Audra did teach me how to adjust my own macros after the twelve weeks if I choose not to continue to pay for their assistance. In my opinion, if you can do it, stay on the program with their help.

I am breastfeeding, so I am a special case. They need to account for how many calories my toddler needs when nursing, how much exercise I am getting, even with my daily routines like laundry (which they call “NEAT”). Also, I can't imagine myself trying to do all that math with trying to factor in the “high carb day”, but it is one of the keys to continued weight loss success, I understand.

Sometimes, when I am very busy, I don't want to type in everything I ate in measured amounts into the app, but yet that is the key to success! So sometimes it is a challenge talking myself into doing it! Amy and Audra highly recommend journaling and especially being thankful. Here's the funny part, I am the author of gratitude journals! Ha! I have already been doing that, but we all have our low days where we don't.

No one outside of my family has noticed. But that could be because they don't recognize me in my face mask!

Conclusion

I am very happy with my weight loss and the effort is worth it and it is easier than other diets I have been on in the past.

I believe you can do this too, if you have a need to lose weight. It is 100% worth a try.
