Technology Education With Class Flexibility
Since I have 8 children and am homeschooling four, I was concerned that we wouldn't always be there every Tuesday for Mason's class. One of my adult children works at an airport and hotel so he can have flight and hotel benefits to travel the world. There are some times that we need to drive to an airport to pick him up and that can be up to more than three hours away and take some time and we don't always know in advance. We also enjoy using that son's benefits and taking vacations as we have time.
Another thing about having so many children is that if you think about how much time per year we spend at doctor, dentist and eye care appointments – it gets to be a lot. We have favorite providers and we need to be flexible with their schedules.
We also have kids in sports and that changes depending on the season, and we want to be flexible to do those things and not have to say no due to a class going on. Frankly, it's one of the reasons why we love homeschooling.
So I was really happy to find out that with MYTEK LAB, the classes are recorded in case you cannot attend. Then you can watch the video sometime before the next class and get your homework done so that you can stay caught up.

Several Technology Class Choices
Technology education is more important than ever nowadays in our constantly changing world. MYTEK LAB has expert instructors that can help your child learn the skills they need to succeed in a world that's increasingly driven by technology.
Mason is so interested in technology. When I realized how much he was enjoying this class, I started to think, “What am I going to do next year?” I started looking at the MYTEK LAB Online Courses Schedule page and realized that there are a lot of classes he could do! This will keep him busy a long time!
Flex Pace Courses
Flex Pace courses are available as well. From what I understand, it's like a Self Paced option. You purchase it and do the class at your leisure, without attending live classes. To quote Jacky Souder, Co-Owner/Vice President MYTEK LAB, INC., “Flex Pace is a highly adaptable course alternative designed to cater to students' varying schedules. This learning approach involves weekly recorded videos and lesson releases, allowing students the convenience to engage with the course content according to their own timelines. Given the rapid and frequent evolution of technology, the potential for outdated material is a concern for learners. However, Flex Pace proactively addresses this issue by continuously updating our content, ensuring that all students have access to the most current material and instructional modules. Recordings will be released each Monday.
By releasing the recordings on a weekly basis, we ensure that students consistently benefit from up-to-date technology education that encompasses the latest advancements. Through the Flex Pace, do not have to follow assignment deadlines, allowing students additional time to work on their assignments. Flex Pace empowers students to pursue their education at their own pace, without needing to participate in a specific live class schedule.”
Standard Courses
My son is currently enrolled in a Standard Course, called the Computer Technology – Elementary course, which is geared to ages 8 through 12. Mason is turning 11 this month and is in grade 5. So far, Mason has been able to attend all of the classes live. But, he does like to go back and re-listen to parts of the lesson. He will “fast-forward” (showing my age here – I don't actually know what you call it) to the spot he wants to hear again and push play.

Mason's Opinion
My son, Mason, really loves this class! He loves that he is learning so much and that he can post his creations for other students to see.
Mason enjoys reading and participating in the chat during class and loves it when the teacher says his name or agrees with his thought.
It's really fun for him to be a part of the chat and have the teacher occasionally call out his name and agree with him on his thought.
This is Mason's dashboard. He enjoys seeing how many total likes he has on items he has posted for the group to see.
He also enjoys seeing how many total likes he has on items he has posted for the group to see. Mason also likes to look at other student's creations and click like on theirs. He feels like he has friends in the class through the chat and seeing their creations and leaving comments and likes for them.
My Opinion
I love that he is having so much fun while learning and can be in a community of other student who are also learning so he doesn't feel alone in this adventure. The flexibility is really amazing! Without it, this class would be so difficult for us to stick with. The price is reasonable compared to others on the market.
To help you understand the value of this… My adult son who graduated from Homeschool has a YouTube channel that teaches people how to do things with coding in a popular video game for children with many many subscribers. When he was in the high school years, we paid every year for him to take technology courses that were a CD you put into the computer back then. It was $200 per year. It seems like a lot, but from that base of four years learning, he has been able to teach others on his channel and gets a deposit into his account each month from Google/YouTube.
Now others come to his channel, old videos and new, and he gets paid for it! He is also my child that works two jobs and travels the world all while his YT Channel gives him income without even working at it very hard anymore.
Sadly, at the time of learning all this, he did not feel he had a way to ask the teacher questions or a chat group or comradery with others going through the same thing and he felt alone at times. I am so excited that Mason can have all of that and can't wait to see what his future holds for him!
