This year, we had Senior photos taken by Tree of Life Photography. I just wanted to let you know how that went.

The photos were to be taken of my two children. One of which is an adult and prefers that I not post his photos online, so I respect that and am sorry that I can't show you those. The other is my daughter, Mercedes, who will be a Senior in this Fall 2020-2021 school year. Here is a small sample of what I received in printed form. The photos on the far left look better in person than in my photo with the light distortion, so keep that in mind.
What I love about this photographer:
She was willing to drive a rather long ways, in construction, to take these photos on a farm.
Samantha, the photographer, is very patient. I was lost with the construction detours and she did not complain about it.
Her creativity – I really enjoyed how she worked with what we had and looked for places on the property and ways to make the scenery look great with the person and props being photographed.
How she kept herself busy. So, in working with two people to photograph, you would think there would be no downtime, but sometimes teens can be poky, or perfectionists in the mirror and they would take a while between changes. Samantha would move backdrops, look for the next photo location, photograph nature, etc. There was not a wasted minute.
The switching – to keep it organized. She must have changed photo cards or something, because when she gave us our full package of like 90 photos to choose from, it was all my son or all my daughter. But in reality, she was taking two photos of my daughter, then one of my son, then three of my daughter, then four of my son, or something like that, so she must have been changing cameras or cards. That's a lot of work, but I love the organization.
Get the right backdrops – I absolutely love the color teal and always want a pose of each child (I have eight children) with teal as a background. She didn't have a backdrop with teal, but was willing to get one, at no extra charge. My son wanted a “city building look” as a background and she didn't have one, but was willing to get that too. Our photos were scheduled within a week and she somehow got both of those backdrops on time, during the pandemic (and you know how that shipping was!). I was amazed!
Works with animals – My daughter wanted a photo of her and two of our dogs in a shot, in a pick up truck. Samantha had to hold the leash of a dog so my daughter could get in the truck. She did this with a smile and my daughter loved working with her.
Delivers by the deadline – I was working with some tight deadlines. My son had his graduation party coming up and I wanted the photos to hand out to close family members who would be attending the party. As well as to have them on time for my daughter's public school yearbook deadline. Samantha delivered well before these deadlines, which seemed impossible to me. I don't know if she paid extra for fast shipping from her printer or what, but she didn't charge me extra and got them to me on time, which I really appreciated.
I am rather picky and want things a certain way and she put up with me! Not only did she help me to get what I wanted and work very hard to make changes and even have the printer reprint a photo I thought looked “too yellow” in printed form, she didn't complain or ask for more money!
That is amazing customer service, people! I say… give this lady a try, you will be impressed!
