[ctt template=”4″ link=”8c2u8″ via=”yes” ]If you want your home to be a smart, safe, healthy and enjoyable place to live, there are a few excellent smart gadgets that you should consider bringing into your property to help you out. Here are some of the best.[/ctt]
Google Home
The Google Home is a smart speaker that uses Google Assistant to answer your voice queries and performs a range of functions, including playing music, Googling questions, doing calculations and even giving you the news, turning off the lights, and making calls, all at your command. If you have this handy helper in your home, you’ll never have to worry about being informed, nor will you have to drag yourself out of that comfy position on the couch to do lots of things that would usually require moving.
A Robot Vacuum
There are now lots of companies making robotic vacuum cleaners that you can turn on and have do the chores for you, even when you aren’t at home. So, if your home isn’t exactly as pristine as it could be and that’s partly because you don’t have the time or inclination to vacuum as much as you possibly should, buy the Neato Robotic Botvac D85, for example, and revolutionize your home life!
A Modern Home Security System
If you have an old-style security system, which consists of nothing more than a burglar alarm that will sound when someone breaks in, and which is easily ignored by pretty much everyone else, you need a more modern home security system like the LifeShield, which will not only protect your home from theft, fire and carbon monoxide leaks, but which offers a live video stream and which will even work should your phone lines be cut. These days you can never be careful enough and being able to monitor your home all the time, no matter what happens, and know that the problem will be solved quickly, is so important.
A Learning Thermostat
A company called Nest makes a fantastic smart thermostat that can actually learn on the job. What does it learn? It learns the habits of you and your family; the temperatures you prefer and when you prefer them, so that it can take control of your thermostat to ensure you’re always comfortable and that you save money on your energy bills. Best of all, since it can be controlled remotely via your smartphone, you never have to worry about going home to a cold house ever again.
A Smart Kettle
The Smarter iKettle 2.0 is a fantastic Wi-Fi enabled kettle that enables those of you who like a nice hot cup of tea or coffee to boil your kettle remotely from anywhere you might be in the home, so instead of having to head to the kitchen and wait for it to get to the right temperature, you can keep working or watching Netflix right until the kettle comes to temperature. Even better, it allows you, via your phone, to choose any temperature between 68-212 F, so that you can always get the right temperature for your green tea, Earl Grey, coffee or whatever else it is you love to drink.
A Smart Home Camera
Having something like the Samsung Smart Home Camera in your home is another great way to keep an eye on your home’s security throughout the day. Because it can be placed in or outdoors, it’s great for keeping an eye on pets or checking that the babysitter is doing a good job of looking after the kids, but it’s also, due to the fact it has night vision and motion detection, excellent for securing your property when you’re away.
A Treat Tossing Pet Camera
If you have a dog or cat who you worry about so much when you’re away from home, invest in the Furbo Dog Camera and not only will you be able to see what your dog gets up to at home, (well when he’s nearby the camera anyway), but you’ll also be able to hear him and speak to him and best of all, dispense him a treat or two throughout the day, so that he knows just how much you love him.
Drop Smart Kitchen Scale
Kitchen scales don’t need to be smart, but when they are, and when they come with a recipe app, like the Drop Smart Kitchen Scale is, it is so much easier to eat healthy meals in healthy portions because you can measure your food much more accurately than you might otherwise have been able to.
