You only need to be on Pinterest or Instagram for a matter of seconds before some jaw-dropping photo of a light and bright bathroom with views from the tub that looks out over a cityscape or mountain range. As kids these days would say, that’s #bathroomgoals. The problem is, not all of us have the means to live on the 52nd floor of some Central Park apartment block, which makes your hopes of brightening up your bathroom in a super stylish way a total pipe-dream.

Or does it?

That’s right, we’ve got some good news because, believe it or not, there are some amazing ways you can add some life and interest to your bathroom that may just brighten it up and give it that wow-factor. Now, wouldn’t that be amazing?

  1. Let In The Light

No one wants a dark and dingy bathroom and that’s because they’re meant to be light and airy and bursting with light. It’s why most tiles and suites are white. It’s to give it that refreshing zing of life. Of course, the best way to do this is to open the curtains and add some more windows. Go on. Give yourself that view from the bathtub or shower. All you need is some frosting window film and you’ll have all the light, a nice snippet of the outside world and no need to be worried about anyone looking in. Sure, adding a window may seem a little extreme, but life’s too short to let your dreams disappear.

  1. Give Your Space Some Life

The most fabulous thing you can ever give your bathroom is the gift of life, which is why you need to rush out today and buy some big, leafy plants to pop in the corner and hang from the ceiling. You’ll be blown away by how incredible these look and how much they breathe some excitement into your space, no matter how dark it may be. If you really want to spruce this space up, then don’t just rely on houseplants; get into the habit of adding a fresh bouquet of flowers to the windowsill every week.

  1. More Reasons To Smile

Overhead lights are alright, but that’s about it. Spotlights, circle lights, fluorescent lights; they’re all a bit horrible. So do yourself a favor and change them up. If you just want to change what you have, try adding a chandelier with lots of bulbs. That will add a touch of extravagance and luxury to a space that you want to start enjoying more. If you just want to add more lighting to the mix, however, try using some copper mounting sconces, hanging some string lights on the ceiling or, best of all, dotting some lanterns about the place and embracing the beauty that is candlelight.

  1. Much More Mirror

It is the oldest trick in the interior designer’s handbook, and for good reason. By hanging mirrors on your walls, not only will you brighten a space up, you will create that illusion of space, and both of these will help you get that bathroom you have always dreamed of. The look we are absolutely loving at the moment is a gallery wall made up of different mirrors, mixing sizes, shapes and styles.
