You don’t feel your front lawn has the curb appeal it needs, and you’re hyper aware of what the neighbors might think! Your landscaping doesn't feel quite right, and your backyard simply isn’t the kind of space you can relax in either.

And if you find yourself in this kind of living situation, we’re here to help you do something about it! Because when you are unhappy, a dramatic change is required – and that might even be easier to do than you think.

Clear it Out Completely!

Sometimes you just have to start all over again! If you hate your yard, the only way to make it look better is to get rid of what’s bothering you in the first place. And if you can’t quite put your finger on it, you’ll just have to rip it all out.

Now we know this is quite a difficult thing to ask, as it’s a lot of work and it’s going to take you some time to work through. And even if you manage it, you’re still left with an outdoor space you don’t really want to use.

So go section by section, clearing out a part of the yard and then creating a new space in that area alone. This way you can slowly build up the space into something you do like, and slowly fall in love with your garden all over again.

Uneven Ground? Install a Walk Deck

Walking decks are great for uneven slopes and bumpy ground – both of which are the natural arch nemesis of the modern gardener!

After all, the more uneven the ground is, the harder it is to properly landscape the lawn in a way that flows from the back door outwards. You’ve just got a lot of lumps and bumps to try and take care of, and flattening them out is quite the hard labor task.

So get a walk deck to go over them instead, and give yourself a more flat, usable surface to spend time on.

Make sure you choose your wood or stone wisely, as you’ll want the material to fit the look of the garden as a whole. Once you’re sure, get yourself some professional walking deck waterproofing to go on top, to make sure it doesn’t wear down or rot in the wetter months.

Start Planting Off the Ground

Planting off the ground means you don’t have to rely on the soil underfoot. You can instead put together your own planter beds, made and decorated in any way you see fit, and then use them.

When you plant off the ground, the plants you choose are far less at risk of freezing or becoming over-watered from runoff. You don’t even need to cover them or have them in a greenhouse!

When you are not happy with your yard, a major change is needed. Make it happen in your own space with these ideas.
