A garage door is one of those things you don't really think about until it decides to stop working. Suddenly, your whole day gets messed up, your car is stuck, and the big entrance to your home feels, well, not so secure. To test the auto-reverse function, lay a piece of wood, like a 2×4, flat on the ground in the door's path. When the door touches it, it should immediately go back up.
