If you are in the position to carry out some home renovation projects then you may be wondering which ones are best to do. Upping the value of your home should be a top priority when it comes to renovating your property, along with making life slightly easier for yourself. It can be tricky knowing which ones to do, especially if you don’t have the budget to make all the changes you wish to make.

Check out the article below to find out more on top renovation projects you might want to consider.

Repaint Your Walls

One of the most common renovations people carry out is repainting the walls. Over time your walls can become unsightly and grubby, especially if you have children and pets. This is okay and perfectly normal, however, it means you are commonly repainting your walls every couple of years. You can choose to repaint over the existing color, giving it a fresh new look.

Alternatively, you can switch from paint to wallpaper, there are pros and cons to this. Decide if this fits in with your budget and lifestyle then pick a gorgeous wallpaper to hang on your walls.

Switch Your Flooring

Another idea for a great home renovation is switching your flooring. If you currently have carpet then you may wish to switch this to hardwood flooring or vice versa. There are certain positives and negatives to making changes to your flooring, for instance, hardwood flooring can be easier to clean but can also feel much colder than carpets.

It also isn’t simply black and white between these two types of flooring, you need to do your research here as there may be other types of flooring that interest you. For example, tiles in the kitchen or bathroom.

Up Your Curb Appeal

Now, consider how your curb appeal looks from the outside. People walking past will be in awe of your property if you get this right. You never know who you might inspire, for instance, you might have some beautiful trees outside your property and then everyone gets a set for their home too.

Curb appeal doesn’t have to be complicated and you don’t need to have too much detail. Curb appeal could simply be a new front door and windows on your home. Keep your windows clean as well, this can be done yourself or from a local window cleaner.

Get A New Kitchen

Gone are the days of a kitchen renovation meaning ripping the whole thing out and starting fresh. However, you can do this if you want, or if your kitchen is rather old. If you don’t want the expensive version of a new kitchen then how about the budget friendly version? This is where you take down your cabinets, paint them, add some new handles, and then hang them back up. Giving the illusion of a brand new kitchen with bright, fresh new cabinets.

If you do want a new kitchen to show off to your guests then head to your local kitchen showroom to see if there are any there that take your fancy.

How About A New Bathroom

How is your bathroom currently looking? If it has seen better days then you may be slightly desperate to give it some TLC and a little renovation. It might be that you always wanted a shower or a bath, if you just have one or the other. Being a homeowner means you get to make whatever changes you wish, and renovating your bathroom might be high on your to do list.

If you don’t know where to begin with this type of renovation then you could contact a home remodeling company who can come and advise you. They may be able to give you some quotes depending on the type of renovation you are looking for.

Head To The Garden

There is no point in having a stunning interior if your exterior doesn’t match. Head to your garden and see what needs to be done out there. If you currently have real grass and you don’t have the time to maintain it then you can always make the switch to astro turf. This will provide you with lush green grass all year around with very little maintenance.

Hiring a gardener can also rectify any long term issues you have with your garden, they can handle most duties. It might be that you need your weeds getting rid of or planting some new pretty plants around your borders. Whatever, it is, be sure to let them know and they will do it for you.

Loft Conversion

Have you always dreamed of having more space within your home? If so, then the answer could lie in your attic. Making more use of the space you have could supply you with a home office, home gym, or even some extra bedrooms. A loft conversion is typically cheaper than moving to a brand new home, so weigh up your budget and see which one works best for you. There are a few types of loft conversion available, so think about the option that gives you the most space.

Open Plan Living

Lastly, open plan living is still incredibly popular. Many with children are a huge fan of open plan living as it makes life slightly easier to know what the children are up to. If, for instance, you are in the kitchen cooking then you can also see the children in the living room. Making the switch to an open plan design can be complicated and something you shouldn’t do yourself unless you have the right qualifications and tools.

You can’t simply remove beams and walls as these could be supporting your whole house, removing one could cause your home to lose the stability it once had. Speak with a contractor who will know exactly what to do within the four walls of your home.
