11 Careers That Help You Give Back To The Community forest for a job helping the environment neededinthehome

When it comes to finding a new career it can be hard to know where to start. Although you may know that you want to move onto something different, making that change is a big deal and if you don’t have any specific goals then it can be almost impossible to decide on the path to take. Whether you have experience or you don’t, venturing into one of the careers that help you give back to the community is one of the most rewarding things you can do – and definitely something you should consider if you’re struggling to start a new.

Whether it’s working with children or saving lives, you will go home each night feeling as though you have made a difference to someone’s life. You’ll have endless job satisfaction and go to bed each night feeling content and happy.

With that in mind, here are 11 careers you can try that will help you give back to the community:

  • Working For A Charitable Course

If you want to work directly for a company that is in need of help, working for a charity could be the ideal solution. Although they rely heavily on volunteers, there are also paid positions you’ll be able to take in either their stores or their headquarters.

  • A Doctor Or Surgeon At A Hospital Or Practice

Becoming a doctor or surgeon requires a lot of educational knowledge and studying, but if you’re looking to make a difference to people’s lives on a daily basis then it can be an incredible change to make. It’s definitely not an easy job, but certainly one of the more rewarding ones.

  • Working As A Children’s Teacher

If you’re looking for an incredibly rewarding job that means you get to shape the future leaders of our country, becoming a teacher is definitely the job for you. Whilst you may not get much freedom in terms of what you teach, the way in which you teach your kids on a day to day basis will help them grow into incredible young adults. Whether you teach a young age or those that are older, you’ll be able to notice the difference you make every single day.

  • Being a Nursery Nurse

A nursery nurse is someone who looks after children who are not old enough to go to school, but still require care whilst their parents are at work. They’ll usually be in a facility or building that is similar to a school, however, they have less structure and focus more on having fun than learning the basics. Of course, activities will be educational, but you don’t require experience or a degree to work as a nursery nurse.

  • Volunteering For A Worthy Cause

If you are not looking to go for a complete career change but want to give back to the community, why not volunteer for a worthy cause on a part-time basis? Whether you help out in a local store once a week or support local events whenever you can – you’ll be surprised how much difference you can make.

  • Becoming A Nurse

Becoming a nurse is much like becoming a doctor as it requires a lot of studying and perseverance, but it’s worth it for such a rewarding career. Most nursing careers will require a degree, so why not consider doing one of the online fnp programs offered by Walsh University?

  • Working In Special Educational Needs

If you want to work as a teacher but you’re unsure what route to take, why not consider working in Special Educational  (often known as a SEN worker). This will often mean you’re assigned a student on a one to one basis, based on whether or not it is believed they need extra attention and care throughout their school life. This can be incredibly rewarding as you can help a child navigate their way through the difficulties their special needs present at school.

  • Training To Be A Fitness Instructor

Becoming a fitness instructor means that you get to help people achieve their fitness goals on a day to day basis. Most people know how hard it is to get started and make progress when it comes to a fitness regime, so imagine being the person that helps make that possible for people. Whilst you need to undergo a certain level of training, this is a a position that you can take into your own hands.

  • Having A Career That Helps The Environment

If you’re concerned about the environment and want to make a difference on a large scale, why not consider a career that will allow you to contribute? They’re not necessarily the easiest positions to get, but once you have the relevant education and experience you could work in research and development or environmental engineering.

  • Working In Research And Development For Science

As mentioned above, working in research and development for the environment is incredibly important and when it comes to science it’s exactly the same – especially when you could be doing the vital research that helps cure a terrible, life-threatening disease.

Again, this isn’t an easy career path to take but if you want a position that will help you see the good people are doing each and every day then it’s a great route to take.

  • Becoming A Psychologist or Therapist

Finally, the last career that will help you give back to the community is becoming a psychologist or therapist. This definitely isn’t a role for the faint-hearted as you’ll have to deal with intense situations each and every day, but it could be a position where you’re potentially saving lives on a regular basis.

You will need a degree and lots of training to be able to take this route, but it will be worth it when you know you’re helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives.

Do you have a job that helps you give back? Is it one I missed off my list? Let me know in the comment section below.
