My 3-year-old loves to use these! Basically, you fill the magic pen with water and draw on the book. When that happens, the white areas change color when water hits them. This makes the pictures very vivid and colorful. When the picture dries, the colored areas disappear and you can color the page again and again! This is a great way for children to recognize colors, numbers, animals, automobiles and helps with learning. These are suitable for children ages 3 and up. This option has Vehicles, Numbers, and Dinosaurs.
What I love about these is that he feels like he is painting and there is so little mess! It is great for at home, in the car or at a relative's house. Even if a little water spills as we are filling the pen, it is so easy to clean up just by drying it with a towel! I also love that it is not wasteful. I am not ripping out pages and throwing them away. The book can be used many, many times! Another thing I love is that I have three young children ages 8, 7 and 3. I can break this set up and give one to each for so little money!
