calendar and pencil How To Overcome Resolutions With Achievable Goals

This year instead of worrying about big resolutions why not set yourself some achievable goals. A life changing resolution is going to be incredibly difficult to keep up with if you're not changing other aspects of your lifestyle along with it. Which is the reason why so many people fail to stick with it. Especially when it comes to renovating your home. So why not decide on a couple of smaller goals that will set you off in the direction you want to go. That doesn't mean they don't have to be ambitious goals but try to keep them manageable if you can. Telling yourself you want a new kitchen is a big goal. Fixing the tap in the bathroom is doable. Once you know what you're aiming for you'll be able to create a plan towards achieving it.

Bringing your goals into existence

Once you've decided what you want to get done it's worth your time noting it down so you don't forget it. Having it written down in front of you also makes it real. If it's just in your head then it will always remain in your head. Place the list somewhere you will regularly see it. This will give you the drive you need and will also act as a little reminder to get on with it. Once you've completed it, you can score it out.  Then, when you look at what you've got left, you'll still be able to see how far you've come.

A space to work

You won't be able to achieve anything if you don't have a stable working environment to build from. There are a hundred and one benefits to having a tidy home. If everything is organised and clean in your home then it's one less thing to get in your way. Starting from scratch means that your mind and body will be free to venture in any direction you wish. Instead of gutting out your current home, you could look into buying a new house and land. But if moving out isn't an option anytime soon, then it's back to basics and a deep clean might be the best way to go.

Timeline

Saying you'll get a job done within a year is too big a time gap. It puts too much pressure on yourself throughout the entire year and will hover over you like a dark cloud of anxiety. If you really want it done, do it today. Or at least set yourself a realistic time schedule. Don't let things get out of hand. Go through your diary and mark down what you want to achieve by the end of each month.

Setting smaller goals is the way forward for achieving big success. They are bite sized and quick to finish. You will be less likely to put them off till later and before you know it they will all have added up towards big changes. Once you've finished transforming your home you may find you're setting yourself some personal goals.
