Young Living has created Green Omega 3™ Softgels and I was curious to try this product. Here is what I found:
No Fish Oil
You heard me right. There is not any fish oil in this product. Instead, this omega-3 supplement uses a quality algae.
Small Enough To Swallow
Have you ever had a big omega 3 pill seem like it was stuck in your throat and you had to hurriedly down a bunch of water? I have. It's so scary because you can't even talk and ask anyone for help. If no one saw you taking your supplement, they would ask, “what is wrong?” Young Living's Green Omega 3™ Softgels are a small, easily swallow-able size compared to the typical large omega 3s out there on the market.
No Fishy Taste and No Fish Burps
Most omega supplements that I have tried, have a yucky taste and smell going down. Plus, I would have fish burps seemingly all day long, it was a very unpleasant experience. Thanks to Young Living, the taste is pleasant because the outer layer is tapioca-based so it smells and tastes good, and there are no fish burps.
One of the Highest Amounts of DHA and EPA
Compared to other vegan omega-3 supplements, Green Omega 3™ Softgels contain one of the highest
amounts of DHA and EPA. Each serving packs 330 mg of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and 160 mg of EPA
(eicosapentaenoic acid) from a pure plant source, marine algae.*
Rich in ALA
It also contains flaxseed oil, which is naturally rich in ALA (alpha-linolenic acid).*
Has Antioxidant Properties
Green Omega 3™ Softgels are made with Clove essential, which has antioxidant properties.*

How It Affects Me Personally
I was excited to try it because of all the benefits above. It does taste good and does not give a fishy aftertaste, plus it is a nice size to swallow. However, I have an iodine allergy. It's not terrible, but I get some annoying hives. For some reason, even though it does not say “iodine” in the nutrition facts, the seaweed that is used for this product must have some in it, because I did develop hives. So, if you have an iodine allergy, I do not recommend this product.
Conclusion
If you don't have an iodine allergy, and already take a small supplement with no yucky taste or fish burps, I still think Green Omega 3™ Softgels is the best omega 3 you can buy. You want the DHA, EPA and ALA. Plus, Young Living thoroughly tests their products to be sure they are safe. Check out their seed to seal promise to see what I mean. With other brands, well – you just never know. I highly recommend you at least give it a try, you may be surprised at how you feel.
