[ctt template=”4″ link=”UMf9Q” via=”yes” ]Is Your Home Suffering Thanks To These Comfort Killers? Five areas where you should pay special attention to ensure your comfort isn’t compromised.[/ctt]

When it comes to building a homely environment, comfort is undoubtedly king. But even if you’ve made great progress in most areas, some of the most simplest mistakes can ruin all of that good work.

Here are just five areas where you should pay special attention to ensure your comfort isn’t compromised. Correct any errors made here, and the home will become a better place in no time.

Poor Security

Everyone should be able to relax in their homes. Unfortunately, it’ll be very difficult to do this when the property isn’t properly protected.

Upgrading the home’s security with CCTV and alarm systems should be one of the top items on the agenda. Getting the locks changed can be another step for added reassurance, especially if you only bought the home recently. You can’t put a price on the knowledge that the threat of burglaries has been stopped.

No Space

As far as homes are concerned, most people agree that bigger is better. High costs mean that many homeowners are forced to settle for slightly smaller than they’d like. Failing to fight back against the subsequent problems can make the property feel claustrophobic. In turn, it can seem unwelcoming.

Removing doors and walls to go open plan can help. In reality, though, simply mastering the battle for storage is likely to make a huge impact. Finally, converting an unused bedroom into something more productive is sure to work wonders for those positive feelings.

Poor Heating

Throughout the winter months, keeping the home warm is one of the hardest challenges of all. Sadly, not getting it right will harm your relationship with the property. Worse still, it could potentially put you at risk of getting ill.

When heating rooms, efficiency is everything. A wood stove surface thermometer allows you to burn materials in a safe and productive manner. Combine this with good air circulation and better insulation to keep the home in a far better place.

Inadequate Water Pressure

There are many minor issues and faults that can surface around the home. Nonetheless, lost or reduced water pressure is one of the worst. It can impact bathing, washing up, and other daily tasks. As such, this can hit comfort and time-efficiency in one fell swoop.

Considering how simple the job is, boosting the shower pressure is an essential feature. A hot shower can wash away the winter blues when you’re not feeling great. Besides, the niggling pain of knowing you need it fixed will hurt your enjoyment too.

No Personality

Creating a property that satisfies the basic requirements is a great starting point. But a home that’s void of any real character or charm is just as bad as one that lacks the fundamentals. Whether it’s family photos, holiday souvenirs or music memorabilia doesn't matter. Finding decorative items that stamp your personality on the property is an essential part of the homeowner challenge.

Until you achieve this goal, the property will feel like a show home. For the sake of your family’s happiness, overcoming this problem is imperative.
