Do you need 4K and HDR?
4K home viewing is becoming more common, but it’s still not mainstream. The same can be said of HDR, or high dynamic range imaging. This leaves you with a bit of a conundrum because should you embrace 4K and HDR now or not? One good reason to choose these things is for future proofing. If you skip them now you might regret it later when you have to upgrade again.
Create a Home Theater Where You Can Enjoy Movies With the Family
A home theater is just a small version of a conventional cinema, meaning you need to have a projector and some kind of screen to project movies and TV shows onto. Home theater designs come in all shapes and sizes, so browse the options and consider which is right for you. Lighting and how you block out natural light will be very important, so don’t ignore that issue.
Work on Your Audio Arrangement
Many people don’t realise or accept this, but your audio setup is actually just as important as anything else. Surround sound is a good option, and if you're willing to spend on speakers, a decent 5.1 audio setup should be more than enough for most home spaces. 2.1 audio is also perfectly adequate for small rooms. If you don’t know what all that means, start reading up on your options and decide which is right for you.
Combine Modern and Retro in Your Gaming Setup
Your gaming setup will probably form a part of your overall approach to these home entertainment changes. For the best results, combine the modern gaming systems such the Xbox One or PS4 with something that harks back to your younger days. You can now get new systems that simply plug into your TV or projector and allow you to play retro games easily.
Getting Your Seating Options Right
Finally, you need to think about the seating arrangements you have in place. Nothing finishes off your home entertainment area better than the perfect sofa and chairs. Some people choose a row of comfortable armchairs if they really want to create the theatre experience in their homes. This is entirely up to you, so think carefully and remember the importance of using your space wisely too.
You’ll never need to pay for other forms of entertainment once you have your home entertainment setup in place. It’ll keep you busy and entertained, and it’ll probably be the envy of all your friends as well. Luckily for them, this kind of setup is ideal for social gatherings!

Hey Amy, great thought about saving money on entertainment if you have enough at home. A cinema for a family of 4 or 5 can be a huge dent in the weekly budget. Small, short throw projectors and a home theater system provide great fun for all the family.
