This is a product review that describes the ordering process of how I ordered a Personalized High School Standard Diploma and a few extras online from Homeschool Diploma from the ordering steps all the way to receiving the shipment in the mail and my opinion of it all. This article was originally published in April 2018. Just bringing it back to the top since I have another child graduating this year and it's on my mind.

Ordering a High School Homeschool Diploma Online
My son doesn't actually graduate this year, but the vendor, Homeschool Diploma, was kind enough to allow the year 2019 to be put on my materials. In this product review, I will give you my experience with ordering and receiving the product. Keep in mind that some of the things that I ordered along with the diploma are optional and may add to the final cost.
Step 1
It was very simple to get to their website and I saw the following screen and ordered the 8.5×11 size.
Step 2
I chose a seal. I liked the “to God alone be the glory” seal.
Step 3
I entered my son's name how I wanted it to appear on the diploma.
Step 4
I entered the school name, city and state (optional). I verified my authority that I am the teacher.
Step 5
I selected the diploma paper. There is ivory parchment or cream. Also, you choose if you want an honor seal. I don't grade my children for homeschool, so I did not choose that option.
Step 6
Next, I personalized the diploma cover. I chose Diploma of Graduation – Green. Green is my son's favorite color. You can choose to add your school name and crest to the cover, some are additional costs. I chose to have his name on the cover.
Step 7
There are diploma add-ons you can do. You can add an archive diploma and a wallet diploma. These do cost extra money. I chose to get an extra copy of the diploma and to get a laminated wallet size diploma. I figured it can't hurt to have more proof readily available when applying for jobs, etc.
Step 8
They ask for a signature. I just typed in my husband's and my name. It is printed in a signature font prior to laminating. You can see how it looks further down below when you view my received product.
Step 9
You can add a cap, gown and tassel.
Step 10
Next, you scroll to the top of the screen and click on the cart icon. Click, “add to cart”. Here you can get a pen as a gift for your graduate, tassels, shirts, invitations, photo announcements, package deals, photo portfolio, thank yous, note cards, return address labels, envelope seals and gorgeous class rings! I did opt to get a tassel as I could just picture my son enjoying that. You can choose what colors you want on your tassel. My son loves green and we live in Wisconsin, so he is a Green Bay Packers fan, so the other color I chose with green is gold, of course!
I didn't include a photo of the checkout screen because that has my very personal information, but if you have ever shopped online, it looks pretty much the same. It is where you finalize everything and enter your method of payment. You will receive a confirmation email with a receipt. If your state allows tax deductions for homeschool, you can save this receipt for that purpose. Talk to your accountant to see if this qualifies.
This entire ten step process took me less than thirty minutes!
About Homeschool Diploma
While we are “waiting for the products to arrive” in our “virtual product review ordering process”, I will tell you what I know about this company. Homeschool Diploma exists to help homeschoolers celebrate their graduations in a way that's truly meaningful – that honors the worth of individuals and dignifies their effort and achievements. And wow, they really do! I can get everything I want, including a quality gift for my son and a class ring if I want one, all through their website! They really want this achievement and the graduate himself or herself to be truly celebrated.
As I write this review, it is only April 5th. You could get your order in and receive your products well in time for graduation and I highly recommend that you do.
What I received
I didn't have to wait very long at all to receive my products. They arrived in excellent condition and were packaged very well and I should know as I sell on eBay and Etsy and do frequent shipping. Inside the package was a little note about signing the diploma. With my oldest child, who graduated in 2017, we had the diploma notarized at a “notary of the public” to make it official. We intend to do the same with this child's.
To keep my child's privacy, I am not able to show the photos, but it turned out really great and I highly recommend you give it a try.
It turned out even better than I imagined it would. It is so official and professional. When you feel the paper with your fingers, you can feel the quality.
There is also a little wallet size diploma, which I did not even know existed until I did this review. The photo shows it to be more yellow, but in real life, it is lighter than that. It is thickly laminated and will last a long time. It looks to me like the lamination would even keep it safe from water damage should his wallet end up being submerged in water.
Okay, so the tassel has the wrong year on it. It's okay, I was not surprised by this! The company kindly emailed me and said they won't have the 2019 number for the tassels until this fall and that they are sending me an extra tassel so I could show all you fine readers what it looked like. Isn't that sweet? They will send me a tassel with the right number in the fall.
How We Plan To Use These
Again, my son doesn't graduate this year. Next year, for his graduation, we will take both large copies of the diploma to a “notary of the public” to have them notarized. Then we will take him out to dinner to the restaurant of his choosing. We will give him a graduation gift and his diplomas (including the wallet size), as well as the 2019 tassel at the restaurant. The diploma with the cover will be displayed at his graduation party on a table along with photographs, a box for cards and other decorations. We will rent a park shelter to have this graduation party and will invite friends and family to attend. Everyone will see his diploma as proof that he has graduated.
Other Products Available
I have already mentioned many other products they sell above including class rings, but I want you to know that Homeschool Diploma also sells an 8th Grade Diploma, Kindergarten graduation items, as well as a Cap, Gown, Tassel and Diploma.
My Opinion
I am really pleased that the whole ordering process took less than 30 minutes online as I am a very busy homeschooling mom who has seven children. The products arrived quickly and well packaged and were in excellent condition upon receipt. I am very happy with my purchase and I plan to order from Homeschool Diploma for my next five children (my oldest has already graduated and I regret that hers is just on a thin, low quality piece of paper that I printed on our cheap printer, with no extra copies or tassel or wallet diploma, oh well, I can't do it all for everyone). I am happy that I was able to do this review and record my experience online so I can find it again and remember how to order seventeen years from now when my toddler graduates! (I am already 44 years old and forget things sometimes.) I recommend that you get a high school diploma for your high school graduate from this amazing company. If you have the means, get a gift, gown, cap and tassel too!

The notary did they sign your paper as well? I am asking because my husband has not helped me really I have been at this pretty much alone. I just want to ensure that it looks as legit as possible and he is not off to often so getting us both in front of the notary could pose a challenge but I like your idea of doing this so it has some weight to it being legit

Hi Gen,
The notary initialed and dated it at a local bank in Wisconsin, USA. I am not sure if there are different rules in other states as to how they do it.

I think this is a great option for kids who are homeschooled. They deserve to have a nice diploma hanging on their wall. Many years of hard work. #wanderingwednesdays
