When it comes to transforming your home, you don't need a huge budget to make some noticeable changes.
There's so much you can do on a budget to give you a home refresh and a mini changeover, so you can fall in love with spending time there once again.
So let's take a look at some fairly inexpensive ways to transform a room on a budget.

New Wallpaper
Wallpaper is an amazing way to change how any room feels. And these days it can be quick and easy, especially when using peel-and-stick wallpaper options.
And the best part is you don't need to paper every wall, you can choose a feature wall, you can paper the chimney breast, you can wallpaper the bottom half of the wall, and paint the top. You just have enough to anchor the whole space and give it a focal point if it didn't have one before.
And if you're really savvy, you can time your purchase with sales from major retailers, or you can choose custom wallpaper for companies like Wallpaper Online for an even more unique wallpaper to bring a room back to life.
Layer the Lighting
Lighting is often overlooked in relation to how a room feels, but it's one of the easiest ways to transform a room. And it can be relatively inexpensive too, especially if you source bargains or shop second-hand items or head to garage sales.
The trick for layering lighting is to make sure you have ambient lighting (this will be your main ceiling light), task lighting (i.e., desk or side table lamps), and then accent lighting (lighting above artwork or leads around a TV, for example).
Then you need to make sure they're all at different levels so you're giving the room a layered feel at every level. Having lighting in just one place makes it kind of flat, and that doesn't make for a cozy room.
Then swap the lighting from cooler to warm shades if you need to, to pull everything together.
Add Scent
This isn't a decor point as much as the others, but it's definitely something not to overlook. A room that smells good is a well-cared-for room, and it's also one of the first things people notice when they enter a room, too.
Reed diffusers work in rooms as a constant background scent and are ideal for places like hallways, bathrooms, and living rooms. Candles are perfect for rooms you're actively in.
Plus, you can match the scent to the mood of your home each day, or you can build your scent across your home if you wish. This involves choosing a base note, i.e. sandalwood, and then adding this to all fragrance throughout your home via any means you wish. You can add other scents, but the aim here is to keep that one fragrance throughout the home.
Rearrange Things
Cheap and easy to do, rearranging your current furniture or furnishings can help you unlock a new look without spending a cent. You can take things from one room to another, you can declutter and remove items you no longer want or need, and you can reposition anything you already have in the room. But before you go and splash the cash, try changing up what you already own.
It might be something in your bedroom that fits in your living room better, or that unit in the hall is not perfect for the kids' room, etc. If you have things in places you don't want them to be, or you're trying to free up space to play around with what you have and see what you can do first.
Change Soft Furnishings
If you're changing everything, this can get expensive fast, but a few small items can be cost-effective. You might start by buying new cushions or new blankets, maybe you're splashing out on a new rug, or even switching up your curtains. Whatever it is, introduce something new and see how you feel about it.
Make sure it ties in with the rest of the room, and you can even use them to change the proportions of a room. Rugs and curtains are especially good at this. Hanging your curtains higher and wider than the window can make the ceiling feel taller and the window bigger.
Start small, replace a few things at a time, and gradually you’ll get the change you've been aiming for.
You don't need a huge budget to change how a room looks or feels. You just need to get creative with what you have and try something new.
