Everyone deserves a little something special from time to time. Adding a little luxury to your home means everyone can enjoy it. There are plenty of choices. Some might be ideal for all the family. Others might suit just the grown-ups. If you’re hoping to treat the family this Christmas to something you can enjoy all year round, why not try one of these home luxuries?

Underfloor Heating
Some homes are easier than others to work with an underfloor heating installation. You can fit this out in every room if you wanted to, or just pick those spaces that become a little chilly. Imagine walking barefoot through your home without feeling that sharp cold feeling on your feet first thing in the morning. Instead, everything feels comforting and warm. Your pets will love it!

As hot air rises, this type of heating is great for keeping your home warm too. If you install this throughout, you might free up some wall space if you don’t need radiators anymore. Of course, underfloor heating is rarely the cheapest option. It is often considered a luxury home improvement. But what a wonderful improvement it could be!
Basement Renovation
Renovating your basement provides the whole family with extra space to enjoy. When you have a large family, you need all the space you can get. To turn this area into a luxury space, you need a high-end outfit. Choose good quality tile flooring with built-in spotlights for extra light. You might add some plinth-style lights around the edges of the room too. Now, add a pool table, a jukebox, and a luxury leather recliner sofa. You’ll find it tough to get the family out of here now!

Hot Tub
Many people believe a hot tub is essential for good health. The warm bubbles massage your stress away and help to improve your circulation. Others believe this is a luxury item and never invest in the benefits it might offer. If you’re ready to treat the family to a little something special, then a hot tub might be ideal. Of course, it is not likely to be suitable for small children. Check the manufacturer recommendations.
Hot tubs can be easy to maintain if you apply the right cleaning solution weekly. Hot tubs tend to be situated in the garden in a quiet and secluded area. You can choose to leave it open, or build a covering or gazebo around it for privacy. If you’re not shy, you might even invite guests to share it! Add some subtle garden lights and a little weatherproof music, and you can enjoy plenty of evenings soaking here.
Luxury Kitchen
A luxury kitchen really does have it all. Insinkerators, boiling water taps, built-in appliances, full lighting and high-end hobs are just the beginning. You might have gorgeous ceramic tiles with underfloor heating. What about some exquisite lighting solutions? Is your kitchen on the internet? If you buy a luxury kitchen, chances are some of your appliances and fittings might be! This means you can control things from an app to save you time and money.

Finish with high-end features like a granite worktop and handle-less soft closing cupboards and drawers. A giant island complete with carousel to make everything accessible is ideal here. Imagine the meals you could cook in here!
Home Cinema
If your family loves going to the movies, why not bring the movies to your family? A home cinema room can bring everyone together to enjoy a great film experience. You need a really big screen or projector. Add some luxury reclining sofas and armchairs. Don’t forget the full Dolby surround sound system. Why not install a drinks fridge or even a bar? Now all you need is some microwave popcorn, a few snacks and to dim the lights!
Home cinemas don’t have to be dedicated rooms. You can usually fit most of these items into a regular living room. You’ll need some blackout curtains to create the immersive atmosphere of a cinema though. It might be worth investing in a large reclining corner suite if you are enjoying films in the living room. This helps everyone to see the screen clearly.
Garden Cabin
A garden cabin can be used for lots of things. Some people buy them for a home office. But you could install a gym out there, or your own private spa, complete with sauna steam room! It’s the perfect little getaway from a hectic day. This might be the one luxury addition to your home that you won’t want to share! Of course, some cabins are designed to double up as living space. Your teenager might find this the perfect way to gain more independence as they get older. Which luxury appeals to you the most?

Growing up in PA, finished basements were the best hang out spot for me and my friends. We felt like it was our own sanctuary away from the parents (even though they were only a flight of stairs away). Now as a parent, whose moved further south, I would love to have that same sort of space for my kids but was surprised at how regional basements seem to be due to differences in water tables. 🙁 Though I do really like your idea about a dedicated home cinema. While not as great as full recreational basement it would be a nice get away space for the kids.
