Planning home improvements one year in advance means that you are able to manage a budget timeline and expectations effectively. It also gives you plenty of time to research and find the right materials that you need.

Let's have a look at some of the home projects that you need to consider planning a year to make sure that they are smooth and successful.

Pool Installation or Renovation

A pool can be something that significantly improves your outdoor living space, giving you a place for exercise, relaxation, and entertainment. However, a pool isn't something that can be planned at the last minute; it requires careful planning and the right timing. If you want to have your pool ready for summer, you need to start planning at least a year to allow for the design, obtaining the permits, and finding a reliable contractor. This approach will also mean that you have the right amount of time to find the ideal pool features, such as lighting, heating, and water features.

For high-quality pool renovation and installation services, think about working with Integrity Pools. They are specialists in renovations, pool maintenance, and installations, and they can help you create the perfect backyard pool.

Kitchen Remodeling

A kitchen remodel is one of the most popular home improvement projects; however, it can be a little challenging and complex. If you plan a year, it allows you to explore different design choices and find the right appliances and materials for the ideal kitchen. You will have plenty of time to find the right contractor and arrange the remodelling schedule to minimise any disruptions to your home. Kitchen remodels will often involve electrical and plumbing work; therefore, you need to have plenty of time to plan so that you can fit in these technical aspects and ensure they are handled properly.

Home Addition or Extension

Building a home extension or enlarging an existing area of your home, such as a new bedroom or larger living room, is a significant project that requires permits, a reliable construction team, and architectural plans. These projects usually involve a substantial amount of time for planning and execution; therefore, planning a year means you have given yourself the time to account for all these factors and avoid any future delays.

Roof Replacement

If your roof is looking old and tattered, then it may be time to consider a replacement. You should ideally do this a year in advance, as it can help you prepare for the project without feeling rushed. Having a year-long time frame enables you to choose the right materials, such as energy-efficient options, and gives you time to budget effectively. Finding a contractor a year in advance also provides you time to save or pay in instalments towards the work.

Conclusion

Home improvement projects can significantly enhance the comfort and value of your home; however, you need to ensure you are planning ahead for them. A year is usually sufficient time to prepare for projects such as poor renovations, kitchen remodels, and home extensions.
