Math is for sure my least favorite subject to teach my children. After homeschooling my eight children for over 20 years, these are my top 5 Homeschool elementary math curriculum choices for 2026.
Disclosure: I have received some of these products free as previous product reviews. I was paid to write this post and include one of these, but was not required to put that sponsor in the first position. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.

1. Teaching Textbooks (TT)

Each problem and hint is read aloud to the student.
I first heard about Teaching Textbooks back in 2009. I absolutely love it. It is a program you use that is self-paced on the computer, but they also have physical textbooks that you can purchase and have shipped to you.
Personally, I do buy the physical books because there are some times that I need to sit down at the table and explain the math and work through the problems next to my child when it gets to the harder concepts like multiplying fractions or algebra. We like to print out each quiz to keep in a folder for my children to keep in their math folder for the year.
This curriculum doesn't start until grade 3. This totally makes sense because the younger grades need time to use manipulatives, learn to write numbers and use flash cards, etc. Check it out here.
Here are some reviews you can read about this product.
2. Math Lessons for a Living Education (MLFLE)
I recently learned about Math Lessons for a Living Education from Master Books when I was doing a product review on it with my daughter. For levels K through 5, there is one workbook that has everything you need for a full year of math in that single book. For levels 1 through 5, there is an optional supplemental practice book for children who need enrichment or remediation. At level 6, there is a separate teacher's guide. Other optional extras are the Teacher’s Companion and flashcards.
I love that it's story-based with a strong Christian component woven throughout the workbook. When you flip through the math workbooks from Master Books, you will discover colorful pages and fun activities to do, in addition to problems. The stories to read have real-life examples of using math. The daily lessons are age-appropriate, and short with just the right amount of practice problems and hands-on application. My daughter found it to be fun and she enjoys using it.
Another thing I love about these Math Lessons is that the wording has Christian values. One of the main reasons that I homeschool is to share my faith with my children in every topic possible. I feel so safe giving my children Math Lessons For a Living Education because it’s fully saturated with biblical truth.

3. Saxon Math
I started using Saxon Math back in 2005 when I started homeschool teaching my first child. What I love is all of the use of manipulatives up until Grade 3. Plus, I also enjoy using the Meeting Book where my children learn the calendar, days of the week, months of the year and counting by 2s, 3s, etc. I feel they have a great way to learn these for hands-on use.
We didn't do all of the problems in the Math workbooks. I would have them either skip a few pages, or just do the even or odd numbered problems, for example. The Teacher book is spiral bound, which is very nice. The verbage in the Teacher book tells you exactly what to say to your student, so you know how to teach the lesson.
Here is our mention of Saxon Math in this post.
4. CTC Math

CTCMath is an online comprehensive curriculum and offers a wide range of math lessons, from Grade K to Grade 12. A student can easily be switched from one grade level to another and can work at their own pace without a deadline. Being a large family mom, I love that my whole family has an account and that I am not limited to how many students.
We live in Wisconsin, USA and were pleasantly surprised by the Australian accent in the teacher's voice. For some reason, that voice makes my children more interested to listen than listening to my voice when I teach them a curriculum. I have to admit, I like to listen to the accent as well.

5. Dimensions Math® Sets
Another Math curriculum we tried and liked was Dimensions Math® Sets sold by Singapore Math, Inc. Dimensions Math is the strongest Singapore math program currently out there, a natural evolution of Primary Mathematics.
The key strengths of this teaching method are the full color pages with images in the textbooks to help in learning – it makes math look fun and the step by step problem solving techniques help apply math to real life situations. Each page in the workbook has from two to ten problems. I also like that they are written in large print in the student textbook and workbook, it's easier on my “older eyes.” It also has spiral binding on the teacher book, which I absolutely love.
