Have you been feeling lately that your home is a mess? If this feeling is overtaking you you're not alone. Many people go through periods where they feel like their home is an absolute disaster area and they want to take control of it and get it looking its best once again.

There are a lot of decluttering methods out there, and you need to grab a hold of some of them really quickly in order to be able to get your house feeling clean and shiny again. Here are some of the best ones you should be embracing.

Start Small

It can all seem overwhelming and this is especially true if you have a big house. Getting everywhere spic and span can feel like one of the most intimidating things you've ever experienced in your life.

However, instead of diving into a big decluttering project and feeling overwhelmed, you should start with a single room.

You can even do a particular location in a room if it is large enough. Dealing with manageable sections at a time and breaking everything up into bite-size chunks is the best way to see the transformation over time without feeling overwhelmed.

Try the Three Box Method

The three-box method is something that you should definitely be trying. This strategy is popular because it is extremely effective.

All you have to do is make sure that you get three boxes. After that, you are going to label them. Label one ‘keep’, label the second one ‘donate or sell’, and then label the final one ‘discard’.

As you begin to go through all the belongings in a room you can then categorize them based on the labels on the box. This makes the whole decluttering process very satisfying.

The important thing is not to become too sentimental about what you plan to discard. Evaluate and ask yourself do you really need this item?

If you don't, then you should go ahead and discard it. If you absolutely cannot let go of it you might want to go here https://www.storagearea.com to find storage units that you can use to keep these items.

One In One Out Rule

Another method you can try is the one-in-one-out rule. You're going to need to shift your mindset in order to keep your home clutter-free.

The one-in-one-out rule will help to stop you from cluttering up your home in the future.

It works very simply, for every new item that you bring into your home on your next shopping spree, you are going to remove an item that is in your home that you no longer need.

This is a great way to get rid of clutter, especially if you have a large home with a lot of unwanted items. You have to make a commitment to yourself to honor this rule.

Turning your home into a clutter-free zone does not have to be a chore. If you embrace some of the methods discussed here, you can have a lot of fun tossing out items, to make way for your best clutter-free life.

Get Professional Help

One of the best ways to declutter is to get a few extra pairs of hands. If you have a lot of stuff you want to get rid of, but aren’t sure how to go about it, you can always call experts like Freedom Junk Hauling and Demolition to come and take everything away for you. This will save you a lot of stress and ensure you can focus on getting to the rest of the house.
