When we agree to buy a house or start a new tenancy, we are often filled with excitement. We spend time planning how we’re going to decorate it, deciding what our routine will look like once we move in, and imagining how we are going to make the most of this fresh start.

Then you get to the last few weeks before moving, and all that excitement is often replaced by stress. Not only is there so much packing to do, but there’s planning and coordination to manage, delicate items to keep safe, and a whole lot of unpacking to do at the other end.
Something that can make a massive difference to this whole experience is hiring a professional moving company. This article will explore how you could benefit by using one for your move.
1. They save you time
Most people will only move a handful of times in their life. That’s not exactly enough to get the process down to a fine art. Professional movers, however, are helping people move every day. They’ve got a lot more experience and can work a lot faster than you. They also tend to work in teams, which speeds things up even more.
2. Coordination
The planning and logistics side of things is typically all taken care of by a professional moving coordinator who will act as your point of contact throughout. Some services contract out parts of the move, especially if you are moving a great distance. For example, a service based in Perth might hire local professional packers in Melbourne to help unpack your goods at the other end. However, the coordinator will ensure that everything runs smoothly and answer your questions.
3. Low stress
When you move, you have to make lots of tedious decisions like which order to pack things in, how to best protect fragile items, how they should fit into the moving truck, and so on. This can be exhausting and stressful. However, moving services will have planned out most of these things in advance, which means fewer tiring choices for you and can take the stress out of moving.
4. Cost effective
Moving is not only about hiring a vehicle. You’ve got boxes, tape, bubble wraps, coverings, fuel, and more to think about. These probably all add up to way more than you think, and even though a moving company will still cost more than supplying all these things yourself, you’ll probably find that the difference is small enough that it’s worth paying extra to let other people handle it.
5. Inventory services
One of the difficulties many people have when they get to their new home is forgetting which boxes contain which items, or finding that some of their things have mysteriously disappeared. This is much less likely to happen with a professional moving service as they typically log all of your items and know where they are at all times.
Conclusion
Hiring a reputable moving service can actually make the experience fun, just like it should be. By taking all that tedious packing and planning off of your hands, you can get on with choosing decorations, updating your address, and preparing for your new future.
