The One Room You Should Choose To Renovate In Your Home

Let’s say you can only afford to renovate one room in your house. It’s not totally farfetched to suggest this as many people don’t have the funds to renovate every single room in their home. It would be asking a lot for your bank balance, and in the current economic climate, you have to make sacrifices.

So, which room should you choose to renovate above all others? You might assume this is an open-ended question with no true answer. However, if you can only pick one room, it should be the kitchen.

Why? Well, here are some reasons that prove this is the best room to improve:

Adds the most value to your home

All room renovations will improve your home, but a kitchen update is proven to be the most valuable. According to Giuseppe Caira – one of the most renowned home builders – kitchen updates add the most value to a property. Why? Because they are the most coveted thing that buyers are looking for. If you can move into a home with a modern kitchen full of the best appliances, it instantly makes a house more attractive. People are willing to pay over the asking price for houses with new kitchens because it makes their life easier by not needing to renovate it themselves!

It’s the easiest to renovate

Renovating a kitchen is actually one of the easiest things you can do. A lot of homeowners are able to put their DIY hats on and do it themselves. This is because there are so many simple ways to upgrade your kitchen. For instance, replacing cabinets with new ones – or simply repainting them – will work wonders for an aging kitchen. Swapping out an old cooker for a modern one is a very simple switch that adds serious value to a kitchen and increases its appeal. There are countless small things you can do to make a kitchen look and feel more contemporary, giving your home a new lease of life.

You spend most of your time in the kitchen

Compared to other rooms, most of your time is going to be spent in the kitchen. Well, most of your practical time. You need to cook there, you’re constantly moving in and out to get snacks – you may even eat there. As such, renovating this room can make your life so much better. Having a modern and functional kitchen makes cooking and cleaning an absolute breeze. You genuinely feel inclined to spend more time in this room because it is so fantastic. In terms of renovations that improve the way your home functions, only a bathroom upgrade can come close.

So, there you go; the one room you should choose to renovate is the kitchen. The big reason is definitely the fact it adds so much value to your home. When you can only afford to change one big aspect of your property, you may as well invest your money in something that brings a big return. The fact that kitchen renovations are fairly easy to do, and provide better functionality, are big bonuses.
