As an entrepreneur, you’ve looked at various ways to develop your business and turn it into a self-sustainable organization. But, you’re wondering whether you need to hire certain skilled employees to make that happen? In short, the answer is yes.
The following are four key workers any business leader serious about growing their company needs to employ:
1. Product Manager
If your business manufactures and sells physical goods, you need to hire a product manager. Firstly, product managers help figure out customer problems, business goals and work out how to align the two successfully.
Secondly, product managers help businesses save time and money by looking at the bigger picture instead of focusing on minute details. Lastly, product managers help improve all team and internal processes, resulting in a more efficient business.
You should hire people that have had proper product management training and have the relevant industry experience to help grow your firm.
2. Sales and Marketing Manager
Whether you sell products or services (or both), one thing’s for sure: you need to make sure you sell them regularly. Otherwise, your turnover and profit will become diminished, and, in severe cases, you may not have a business to run.
An effective way to grow your business is by onboarding a sales and marketing manager. Their job entails overseeing all aspects of sales and marketing, ensuring people buy what you sell, and reduce the cost of sales to your business.
If you hire a sales and marketing manager, ensure they’ve got a proven track record along with a glowing resume so they can work their magic in your business.
3. Accountant
Let’s face it: you’d rather be out there getting new customers and sales to your business instead of pouring over spreadsheets and financial charts, trying to make sense of what’s before you.
With that in mind, an essential asset to any growing business is an accountant. As you might expect, their job is to manage and oversee your company’s finances and help you run your business in a tax-efficient way.
They can also play a crucial role in any business expansion plans, as they can determine whether an idea is a financially viable one or not.
4. Human Resources Manager
When you employ people to work for you, it’s a good idea to check that a) they will fit in with your company’s ethics, ethos, and vision, and b) they have the right skills and attitude to conduct their work.
A human resources manager will ensure you only have the right talent working for your organization. Plus, they’ll also check that your business complies with all payroll rules and government-mandated employee legislation and guidelines.
Final Thoughts
The above isn’t an exhaustive list of all key workers that businesses need. However, it outlines the most valuable additions to any growing company.
