Having an organized pantry is great for several reasons. Not only will it make it easier to find what you’re looking for, but it will help you maximize your space too. Once you’ve got your pantry organized, the next challenge is making sure it stays that way. Take a look at the following tips to keep your pantry organized, and see how much joy it brings to your home.

Get label happy

Organizing a pantry can be a lot of fun, the perfect excuse to get yourself some storage jars and start labeling. You can get inspiration from all kinds of pantry organization ideas that will help you keep your baking ingredients, pasta, rice, etc., neatly sealed away and easy to find. Using storage jars and containers can also help you to reduce waste from plastics, as you’ll be able to refill them easily at specialist stores.

Regularly check your stocks

There’s nothing worse than going to find ingredients and finding that there’s none left! Checking your stocks regularly (such as when you do the grocery shop), will help make sure that your jars stay full – avoiding disappointment and giving you a lot of options when it comes to cooking or baking. Websites like Amazon can help you schedule repeat deliveries, so if there’s something you need to replace regularly, put a repeat order in place to make sure you never run out.

Clean it regularly

With people in and out constantly, it’s easy for your pantry to become messy, with spills everywhere! Keep on top of your pantry cleaning to make sure it stays nice and hygienic. There are some great cleaning and maintenance tips that are perfect for keeping your pantry clean. Regular dusting can make a big difference, so don’t forget to dust off your jars as needed. Keep the floor clear and dry, and the space will feel much clearer when you enter. Don’t forget to use some antibacterial products to help keep things germ-free – you can’t take any chances when it comes to food!

Keep the pests away

Pests can be a nightmare for your pantry. But it’s one of the most tempting spaces for them to enter your home because that’s where the food is stored. Keeping it clean will help, but there are deterrents you can put in place to stop rodents, as well as meal moth traps or pantry moth traps to keep pests from getting into your stores. Be vigilant for any signs of pests and do something about them immediately.

A perfect pantry space is very satisfying to look at, but it also serves a practical purpose too. Keeping all of your goods safe and dry, you’ll never regret taking the time to get it just right. If you’ve been feeling inspired by The Home Edit or what you’ve seen on Instagram, spend time organizing your pantry and take steps to help keep it that way.
